About the Event
Would you like to learn more about traditional coppicing? How to best maintain a woodland for the local ecology? And how to effectively generate firewood and green wood products?
Join highly experienced woodsman and ecologist Mike Ingram and qualified nature conservationist, rewilding practitioner and Hearth groundsperson Jen Gardner in a beautiful wooded valley near Totnes. They'll be sharing their knowledge of practical woodland management and teaching age-old techniques for coppicing and green-woodworking.
You will come away with:
- a deeper understanding of practical coppicing techniques
- the confidence to use them
- awareness of the benefits of coppicing to the local ecology
- your own hand-made coppice creation to take away with you.
After the hard work ends there'll also be the chance to soak those tired muscles in a steaming wood-fired hot tub.
Timings:
